Soul Windows is a ministry providing books, articles and audio recordings of
religious, theological and spiritual themes based on Sacred Scripture, as
well as live presentations in retreats, workshops and religious services.
Their creative passion is found in their twice-monthly publication of the
online newsletter Soul Windows-Reflection
. Bill and Jan bring a
blend of sound scholarship and experiential understanding to their work and
both are Benedictine Oblates. As active members of their community, they
lead programs on Benedictine Spirituality for Initial and Ongoing Formation.
Combining the wisdom of a scholar, the heart of a pastor and the voice of a
poet, Bill Howden is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples
of Christ). Bill enjoys creative interpretation of scripture, writing poetry
and travel journaling. His work has appeared in the
, Pulpit Digest
, Word and Witness
and other publications. Bill's wide-ranging ministry has included pastorates
in six states, teaching at Princeton Theological Seminary, where he earned
his PhD and ecumenical work in Germany.
Also actively engaged in ministry, Jan Davis is a Spiritual Director,
author, speaker and leads spiritual retreats and leads parish missions. She
earned her DMin from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and holds
certifications as Spiritual Director and Professional Catechist. Following a
recent two-year advanced formation program in the Spiritual Exercises of
Ignatius of Loyola, Jan received a certificate from The Magis Program:
Ignatian Spirituality of San Antonio
. She presented a scholarly paper
on Thérèse of Lisieux for the Society for the Study of Christian
Spirituality. Her other articles are published in Henry

, and elsewhere.
